Just Dance sempre teve uma missão simples: colocar as pessoas de pé. Não importa se você dança bem ou termina a música sem fôlego e com alguns passos de atraso. Decades of Hits entende essa essência e, no PS5, o que mais chama atenção é a forma como a Ubisoft organizou tudo em torno de várias gerações, dos anos 70 aos 2020.

É fácil imaginar uma sessão que começa com ABBA, passa por Spice Girls e termina em Bad Bunny, com pessoas de idades diferentes reconhecendo alguma coisa no caminho. Não é uma reinvenção da série, mas, pela primeira vez em algum tempo, existe uma ideia temática forte o bastante para dar identidade ao lançamento.

A principal novidade é o Adventure Mode. Lyra precisa atravessar seis mundos temáticos para encontrar o pai, o Dr. Gigavolt, depois que um experimento com viagem no tempo dá errado. Você explora pequenos espaços, dança, responde perguntas e libera desafios. Não espere um RPG: a história existe para organizar as músicas, e funciona melhor do que eu imaginava, porque incentiva a descobrir faixas que passariam despercebidas. O único tropeço é a navegação, que pede o DualSense em alguns momentos e o celular nas músicas.

Visualmente, a série segue saturada e sem qualquer tentativa de realismo. Algumas coreografias parecem videoclipes completos, e Wannabe impressiona pela quantidade de treinadores na tela. Já a interface não acompanha: com tantos lançamentos na mesma plataforma, encontrar uma música específica nem sempre é rápido.

Just Dance has always had a simple mission: get people on their feet. It does not matter whether you dance well or finish a song out of breath and a few steps behind. Decades of Hits understands that, and on PS5 what stands out most is how Ubisoft built everything around several generations, from the 70s to the 2020s.

It is easy to picture a session that starts with ABBA, moves through the Spice Girls and ends with Bad Bunny, with people of different ages recognizing something along the way. It is not a reinvention of the series, but for the first time in a while there is a theme strong enough to give the release its own identity.

The headline addition is Adventure Mode. Lyra travels through six themed worlds to find her father, Dr. Gigavolt, after a time travel experiment goes wrong. You explore small areas, dance, answer questions and unlock challenges. Do not expect an RPG: the story is there to organize the songs, and it works better than I expected, because it pushes you to discover tracks you would otherwise skip. The only stumble is navigation, which asks for the DualSense at some points and the phone for the songs.

Visually, the series is as saturated as ever, with no attempt at realism. Some routines look like full music videos, and Wannabe impresses with the number of coaches on screen. The interface does not keep up, though: with so many releases on the same platform, finding a specific song is not always quick.

Para jogar sem nada na mão, há um modo com a câmera do celular, limitado a um jogador.

E Just Dance continua melhor quando ninguém leva a pontuação a sério. Errar não interrompe a música, e as melhores sessões são aquelas em que uma pessoa segue o treinador à risca, outra está perdida e alguém inventa metade dos passos. Sozinho, o modo de exercícios transforma uma sequência de músicas em um treino surpreendentemente intenso.

A dificuldade varia bastante entre as faixas e não dá para reduzi-la: se a sua favorita ganhou uma coreografia exigente, vai ter que aprender. Uma opção mais simples ajudaria crianças e jogadores com menos mobilidade.

O Party Mode é onde tudo se encaixa. A seleção automática acaba com a discussão sobre quem escolhe a próxima música, e a mistura de décadas faz cada pessoa reconhecer alguma coisa. É aí que Decades of Hits encontra sua identidade: colocar gerações diferentes diante da mesma tela.

On PS5, the smartphone is central. You install the app, connect it to the game and the phone becomes your motion controller. Setup is quick, but it is curious that such an accessible franchise relies on a second device just to start a song.

With the phone in your right hand, scoring is closely tied to what that hand does. It is not as precise as full-body tracking, but it does the job: lots of people can dance without buying accessories. To play hands-free, there is a mode that uses the phone camera, limited to one player.

And Just Dance is still at its best when nobody takes the score seriously. Mistakes never stop the song, and the best sessions are the ones where one person follows the coach perfectly, another is lost and someone makes up half the moves. Playing alone, the workout mode turns a run of songs into a surprisingly intense session.

Difficulty varies a lot from track to track and cannot be lowered: if your favorite got a demanding routine, you will have to learn it. A simpler option would help kids and players with limited mobility.

Party Mode is where it all comes together. Automatic song selection ends the argument over who picks next, and the mix of decades means everyone recognizes something. That is where Decades of Hits finds its identity: putting different generations in front of the same screen.

São 35 faixas e algumas versões alternativas. É um pouco menos do que veteranos da série esperam, mas a variedade de estilos pesa mais que o número, e uma sequência de músicas dificilmente parece repetitiva.

A ressalva fica para algumas músicas antigas em versões cover. As gravações são competentes, mas quem conhece bem os originais vai sentir um pequeno estranhamento nos primeiros segundos, até a coreografia assumir o protagonismo.

ABBA's Mamma Mia represents the 70s, Run DMC's It's Tricky the 80s, and Wannabe and Bye Bye Bye are bound to become automatic party picks. It is a catalog that understands the value of recognizing a song in the first few seconds.

There are 35 tracks plus a few alternate versions. That is a bit fewer than series veterans may expect, but the variety of styles matters more than the number, and a run of songs rarely feels repetitive.

The caveat is that some older songs are cover versions. The recordings are competent, but anyone who knows the originals well will feel a little odd in the first few seconds, until the choreography takes over.

Para quem chega agora, a confusão inicial é real: nem sempre fica claro o que é da edição comprada, o que veio de versões anteriores e o que pertence à assinatura. Depois que a lógica faz sentido tudo fica mais simples, mas a apresentação poderia ser mais transparente.

E a conexão importa em dobro, porque console e celular precisam conversar pela rede o tempo todo. Na maioria das casas isso passa despercebido, mas quando falha é frustrante ver um jogo tão simples depender de tantos aparelhos.

Not every song is stored on the PS5 from the start. The game leans heavily on streaming and lets you download tracks for more stability, but there is a limit to how many can stay saved.

Downloading the songs you play most is still the most predictable way to keep an internet hiccup from getting in the way right in the middle of a routine.

And connectivity matters twice, because console and phone have to talk over the network the whole time. In most homes it goes unnoticed, but when it fails it is frustrating to see such a simple game depend on so many devices.
